It’s nearly that time of year folks! With the arrival of the Pumpkin Spiced Latte on the Starbucks menu, spooky season is just around the corner. I don’t know about you, but we can’t wait for our Instagram feeds to be filled with goblins and ghouls, spiders, and all things gore. And if that doesn’t sound appealing, orange leaves, pumpkin designs and cable knit nail art are just as good.
As the leaves change and the days get shorter, it signals all of us nail techs to swap out those bright summer shades for a range of shadow greys, sleek blacks, rustic oranges, blood reds, and rich purples. Over the last few years, we have seen a rise in popularity among those who celebrate the horror-filled holiday, going all-out on costumes and makeup… but we know an outfit is never complete without nails to match.
To make sure you have plenty of ideas, we have sorted out some of our favourite Halloween nails from past years. So, grab a warm drink, snuggle up on the sofa and check out these booooo-tiful nails.
Ready for Pumpkin picking?
The month of October wouldn’t be the same without a range of various decorations: the most prominent one being pumpkins. We see the orange vegetable often carved with precision and put on display for everyone to see. It seems that the nail community noticed the love for the October staple and therefore incorporate the pumpkin motif into lots of different designs. Those oranges, yellows, and reds create the perfect colour story for Autumn time. Paired with a cute cable knit design or a check pattern, you are all set for some cosy Halloween nails.

Morticia Adams Vibes.
We can always count on Morticia Adams, ultimate goth girl and Halloween icon, to show us how to slay throughout spooky season. Her effortless look, a mixture of scary and sexy, is a great inspiration for those who want a darker set of nails. Get rid of all the colour and opt for dark purples, blacks, deep reds, and berry tones. Keep it sophisticated with a hint of scare factor and you too can slay like the Halloween queen. We recommend Very Berry, Carbon Black from the Glitterbels Coloured Acrylic Collection, Vampire Food from the Glitterbels Gel Polish Collection, and Graceful Grey from the Glitterbels Hema Free Collection to create some of these.

Jason, to Killer Clowns we just can’t seem to stop watching these creepy characters. They really do have the IT factor… Here are some of our favourite character-inspired sets.

Pink is scary, right?
Now we all love a bit of pink and usually, it’s not your typical Halloween colour, but we love to get creative. Adding a splash of pink to a Halloween set can take the cuteness levels from 0 to 100. Pink pumpkins, spiders, even ghosts wearing blush: how could you not love that? Pairing a bubble gum pink with a high shine black is the best combo. Here are some of our favourite cutesy Halloween sets. To achieve this perfectly pink vibe, check out Crazy in Pink from the Glitterbels Gel Polish Collection, Pink Martini from the Glitterbels Coloured Acrylic Collection, or Sugar Plum from the Glitterbels Unbelievabel Gel Collection.

Must be the season of the witch.
Hey Alexa, play Season of the Witch on Spotify. We love a good witchy moment. From cauldrons and potions to wands and crazy capes, these witches have style, that’s for sure. So, why not get crafty and create a witch-inspired set? Use dark tones mixed with bright greens and pumpkin perfect oranges or Purples with a hint of glitter. You can’t go wrong. Stars and moons paired with flames and snakes can also add an edge. Grab a pot of the Glitterbels Loose Glitter in the shade Universe, SeaGem, Exotic, or Onyx to add a bit of magic to your fingertips.

Seen a Ghost?
Much like pumpkins, ghosts are synonymous with Halloween time. We love a ghost design, paired with a multitude of different colours, faces, and shapes: you really can get creative with it. Add a mixture of gems and cobweb gel art to really send shivers down your client’s spine. One of our favourite ghost designs was created by Glitterbels Ambassador, Shannon Rea, using Glitterbels Glass Slippers to build a 3D ghoul nail charm. We are completely obsessed! Check out the Glitterbels Core Powder range if you want to give it a go.
