Glitterbels has released another gorgeous collection of 24 Hema Free gels. In this latest product release, we have a selection of beautiful neutral tones perfect for the “clean girl” aesthetic that has been trending throughout the year.
With hues of pinks, nudes, beiges, and browns with a pop of sparkle, Glitterbels has you covered for the winter. These simple and chic shades can be used on their own, for a minimal nail art design or layered under a dazzling glitter gel.
However you choose to wear this new collection, you don’t need to worry about coverage. If you are new to our Hema Free gel, you should know a few of our favourite things about the amazing formula in our little pink bottles.
The Glitterbels Hema Free Gel is a 1-2 coat formula, created with long-lasting retention, high shine, and creativity in mind. The easy-to-apply gel polishes can be applied to a nail fully or used for nail art. Glitterbels Hema Free Gel is a premium product, that doesn’t dull or crack and is available in a multitude of shades. We are so excited to be able to expand our range.
But what is “Hema Free”, you ask? Well, Hema is a light-curing monomer that is commonly found in nail products, it is also used for medical purposes too. Its full name is Hydroxyethyl Methacrylate. Hema is used in products for its adhesion properties and is polymerized under UV/LED lights.
Over the last couple of years, there has been a bubbling conversation among nail technicians and those who work in the nail industry surrounding Hema. Possible reactions from Hema have caught the attention of many and headlines, blogs and social media posts can be found all over the web, discussing if Hema is as bad as everyone says.
BBC News even covered the topic earlier this year with an ‘Investigation launched into gel polish allergic reactions. But with Hema being an ingredient in nail products for so long, why was there such a rapid rise in reactions? During Covid19, we were all encouraged to use harsh antibacterial soaps and sanitisers. Our skin's overexposure to these products makes us more susceptible to developing an allergic reaction, as our skin barrier is weakened by the overuse of alcohol-based soap and antibacterial sanitisers.
We know Hema isn’t a bad product, but we wanted to offer options to our clients and customers because we all love getting our nails done. Fast forward a few years and the Hema Free range has become one of our most popular ranges and we have been able to expand our collection, adding more colours and even creating a Hema Free Builder Gel.
So without further ado, here are the fabulous new colours in this month’s release:
