Frequently Asked Questions

How do I clean acrylic nail brushes?

The best way to clean acrylic nail brushes is to use the same monomer you used on the nails. If that doesn't work, then you can try using acetone nail remover, but a regular wipe with monomer after use is the best way to keep brushes clean and hygienic.

How do I clean gel nail brushes?

Firstly saturate a cotton pad in isopropyl alcohol. Then wipe the handle of your brush with it. Next, set the cotton pad down and wipe the bristles on it.

Tip: If you are having a persistent issue with getting the colour out, add clear nail gel to your brush.

Is a flat or round brush better?

Round brushes are good for more experienced nail technicians. They hold the right amount of liquid to get the perfect liquid-to-powder ratio. Their pointed tips allow easier working around the nail edges or cuticle and allow you to do more detailed work. Flat brushes are very easy to use in applying acrylics along the length of the nail. The disadvantage of flat brushes is that they don’t hold as much liquid (as round brushes) and might leave you with thicker beads.

What are the different sizes suitable for?

The Glitterbels Acrylic Brush is a must have tool if you are working with acrylic, with a comfortable handle and a round shape to the bristles. It is down to the nail techs personal preference on whether they decide to use a rounder brush or a pinched one for the task at hand.

Can you use makeup brushes for nail art?

Absolutely not. Always use a nail brush.
